I had such a fun mini-vaca in Oxnard with my sister and niece recently. We spent 4th of July there and it was perfect. Today, I’m sharing 5 reasons why I loved it, and why I think you should stay there at some point, too! 🙂
It was really hot in Glendale (where I’m from), but the weather in Oxnard was amazing and sunny with the perfect amount of beach breeze. I even went for a solo-run in the morning, which is something I hadn’t done in a while, but find to be so relaxing even though it’s cardio…This morning sun literally felt healing for this SF-turned-LA gal!
2. #KidFriendly AND #DogFriendly
If you know me, you know how much I love kiddos and doggos. Obviously I don’t have either of those, lol! But we were with my 9-year-old niece, so Embassy Suites was the perfect Resort for us to stay at because there were lots of kids playing in the pool & pups to play with.

3. Free Breakfast and Happy Hour
I’m not exactly a morning person, but when it comes to food, it’s a no-brainer and I’ll definitely wake up for free breakfast LOL you feel me? They had just about everything you’d want for breakfast at the buffet––eggs, pancakes, bacon, fruit, yogurt, cereal, you name it. Happy Hour was an open bar and light bites, which was the perfect way to just chill poolside as the sun was setting.
4. Activities Galore
They have a gym that’s open to all guests, as well as a spa, and activities like s‘mores by the pool, tennis lessons, and even outdoor movie screenings! I loved going to the gym, which had all the equipment I needed as well as free yoga mats. 🙂
5. Close to more fun in Oxnard!
The resort actually provides shuttle services to Channel Islands, Ventura Harbor, and the Collections in Oxnard. We spent a few hours at Channel Islands for lunch/dessert. They had live music and food trucks, and people were making BBQ for the 4th. Also, the Camarillo Outlets are super close to the Resort. Our vacation wouldn’t have been complete without a trip to the outlets, so we definitely did some shopping before heading back to LA! 🙂
